Good day

I am looking for a base electrical template based on South African standards. If there is a link to such a template, it would be a great help.

Many thanks.

There appear to be templates in the content packs:

Type "Revit content packs" in a search engine and it should give you links to the various software versions.

Thanks very much Ian. However, I have tried that and it appears to only be a structural template.

Appriecate the assistance.

From what I can see online electrical systems in SA appear to be based on UK systems, 230v/50Hz, but with a mixture of the the older UK 15A roundpin sockets and type N sockets used in Brazil? I would have thought you could maybe start with a UK template and modify it to your needs and @fabiosato could maybe direct you to families for Brazilian receptacles?

Hello,

Which standards you are looking for?

Voltage settings, wiring sizes and symbols?

The templates Revit provides are just a starting point. Ultimately you have to create your own for your company's needs and local requirements. Same applies to oob families (or families provided by manufacturers) etc.

I'd pick the one closest to my needs and start from there. As you progress designing in Revit, you will find yourself changing your template to what you actually need.

If there are 1 million users, I'm willing to bet there are 1 million ways Revit is being used. No way for Autodesk to make it right for everyone and it also would limit what we can do.

Revit version: R2025.4

Morning Fabio

I was mainly looking for the wiring standards. But I'll failing that, I will investigate what these are and manually enter them into the template electrical settings.

Hello,

Depending on the wire gauge you use.

If you use AWG, you start from the American template.

If you use mm², you start from the UK template.

This is a big difference.
