Hi All, 

I am looking for the best place to find generic MEP based families. Have you any good links you can share?

the are some good generic families on the NBS website but there isn't many

Ultimately you have to modify/create your own families.

Besides the typical sources, like Seek, manufacturers have families. but the whole shared parameter issue will require editing to work for your company standards. Take shared families as a base or inspiration, not the finished product.  They often are way too complicated, or way too simplistic.

Yes, that's true, you eventually have to create your own, but websites like BIMObject and RevitCity can give you a jump start.

I notice that you specifically mentioned generic families.

I usually look in the out of the box libraries, Bimobject or NBS.

Or make my own.

Most other sources tend to be manufacturer’s families e.g. Bimstore, MEPcontent, Magicloud etc.
