I created a elbow from scratch.  I can set the default angle to either 45 or 90 (Only 2 angles that matter).
When I set it it routing preferences it will work fine based on the default angle.

e.g. If default is 90, it'll draw with routing preferences 90 degrees each time, no failure. If you model at 45, it fails.

If default is set to 45, it's draw with routing preferences 45 each time, no failures.  If you model at 90 it fails.

The CL shifts slightly based on 45 or 90 of the fitting, and the cant of the vertical pipe is seeming to show that.  Not sure what to do to fix this.

Autodesk support was able to assist.  I did not have the "Angle" parameter mapped on the connector!

I made this from scratch, as I work for Viega.  We have a majority of our fittings at https://bim.viega.us
