It would be nice to be able to update view range of a floor plan or plan region on a section or 3d view by drag and drop its different primary ranges and view depth. Sometimes, the current way to solve a view range is a struggle, especially on RCP.
It will be really helpful to change the View Range and preview the changes in real-time. I always have trouble displaying Parapets or windows at street level. Creating plan regions for each such window is counterproductive. Guessing and trying multiple view ranges is also counterintuitive.
Incrementing the View Range in real-time would be a real time saver.
I totally agree! We all spend too much time on trying to get the view range right. It gets harder when trying to figure out the proper range settings in the reflected ceiling views. I'm constantly battling the error messages as they are often not clear to the issue at hand -- Additionally, the dialog box cuts off the level names, and there's you can't widen the dialog box. Poor user interface design Q.C.
How about the ability to adjust the view range dynamically with a slide bar? We could adjust it this way but still have the ability to type in hard numbers as well. This would be easier than calculating in your head what level and heights you're at when working on an unfamiliar project that someone else set up. Use the Scroll bar to get close, then type in the hard numbers...
