"OR" in filter rules

"OR" in filter rules

There is currently no "Or" capability in filter rules, which makes it very difficult/inefficient at times to filter.  For instance: assume I only want to see walls that contain CMU or Concrete in the type name.  I can create a filter for Just the concrete walls easily, and do the same for the CMU.  But one filter with OR could easily accomplish the task.

Allow multiple schedule filters to be paired with one another using both AND, and OR. Boolean operators are AND, OR and NOT. Currently, NOT is sort of embedded in ones choices of filters. However, the filters can only be daisy chained with AND. Including OR would be very helpful.

Please include a feature in the next Revit update for schedules to filter using a logic "OR" instead of "AND". Allow us to create more arguments under the Filter tab as well (Limit of 32 logic arguments is fine).

...Where Parameter.Value IN(ValueA, ValueB, ValueC, ValueD...)

It would be a dream come true if you could include other logic such as XOR and IF in schedule filtering.

Is this on the roadmap yet ?

I would have used this today.  Accepted 8 years ago, and it's still not in Revit...

EDIT:  To clarify, this feature request is about SCHEDULE filters.  Filters in View Templates have been doing this well for a long time.

OK, so, what I think I'm hearing everyone say, and I agree, is this:

Be sure to vote for each of these ideas if you agree with them.  Yes, I know, a bit of self promotion here... sorry Ric_Weber_0-1760538555028.png.  Thank you!

this suggestion/idea was originally brought up in 11-29-2011 09:22 AM
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/filter-a-schedule-using-a-logic-quot-or-quot...

From and including: Tuesday, November 29, 2011
To, but not including Wednesday, October 15, 2025

Result: 5069 days

It is 5069 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date.

Or 13 years, 10 months, 16 days excluding the end date.

Or 166 months, 16 days excluding the end date.

This is the fourth highest voted topic in all of the entirety of the Revit suggestion board. Meaning it has taken them over 13 years to barely scratch the main concerns of users. They do not care about their user experience.

Still no update on that, the most basic function but we can't get it.....

It still amazes me that Revit - basically a database in a fancy graphic coat - doesn't support basic database functionality.

So 2026, it's officially 10 years since Autodesk "Acepted" this idea...

This is so incredibly simple... come on Autodesk!

Will we ever get this super basic function in Autodesk 2050 ?
