Please Make Twinmotion for Revit 2025 actually compatible with Revit 2025

Currently, Revit 2025 only supports Twinmotion for Revit 2024. The latest release of Twinmotion for Revit 2025 will only be supported by Revit 2026. Right now, if we attempt to export to Twinmotion or datasmith from Revit 2025 and we have Twinmotion for Revit 2025 installed, we are greeted with an error stating that no version of Twinmotion exists.

Please stop hardcoding these values in and release patches timed with up major releases of Twimotion to allow them to be compatible with all, or at least 2-3 years, worth of Revit versions.

Hi, @Scott.Schroeder ,

We understand your frustration. This would probably need to be suggested to Epic Games, the maker of Twinmotion, as it is a third-party software.

Thank you for your Idea submission!

@kimberly_fuhrman-jones, I did reach out to Epic and they said that the Revit Versions of Twinmotion are now controlled by Autodesk as far as their support within Revit.

Here is Epic's response.

Apologies, I appreciate this is an old thread, but I would like to second the request to stop hard coding compatibility between versions of Revit and Twinmotion.

As architectural studio, we have multiple people working on the same project at once, all in Rvt25 as agreed at the start of a BIM project, and specified in the BEP. This same requirement feeds through to all other external consultants, structural engineers and MEP designers etc.

I would love to be able to upgrade the architectural team to Twinmotion 25 and take advantage of new and improved features as I truly believe TM will surpass Enscape and other real time renderers with the collaboration between Autodesk and Unreal. Unfortunately this is impossible with the Datasmith exporter being built in to Revit as it would require all other external consultants to do the same, this is not always practical in the real world.

The substitution feature of TM 24 was a gamechanger for us, but this does not work when importing a Rvt25 export to a TM25 model. This means we are locked into a singular, older version of TM.

I would request that either the Datasmith exporter be split from the main program as per other software setups (sketchup, 3ds max etc), or alternatively make sure that updates for Revit are released that upgrade the built in exporter upon release of newer TM versions so that we can take advantage of newer features.

Many Thanks

@Scott.Schroeder, we encountered a similar issue, so I created a batch file to address it by adjusting certain registry entries. For details, check my GitHub project TwinmotionForAnyRevit, where you'll find the script and notes.

Until there's an official fix, I hope this helps.
