When I accidentally close a view tab, I'd like to be able to open it back up quickly. In large projects hunting or searching through the project browser can waste quite a bit of time.
Web browsers commonly use the Ctrl+Shift+T keyboard shortcut to achieve this.
When I close a view tab, I normally spend a certain amount of time scrolling down the project browser to find the view I just closed. Unlike Google Chrome, for instance, which uses "CTRL+Shift+T" to reopen a tab that has just been closed, Revit doesn't have a short cut to do that. (or at least I haven't seen it) It would be nice to have it!
Would love to have similar functionality as most browsers do these days of reopening recently closed tabs / views with Ctrl+Shift+T. I searched within the keyboard shortcuts for a command like this, but to no avail.
I specifically want a shortcut to open not just closed tabs, but the most recently used open tab. I like the ctrl arrow or ctrl shift arrow idea, or any shortcut would be better than none! I do a lot of clicking the "recent windows" button at the top bar, and selecting the second one down. We're talking, like once every 5 minutes at least.
Ctrl Shift Tab cycles through the tabs in the order they are placed at the top, so perhaps, Ctrl Shift Arrow can cycle through the recent list?
The amount of time I wish for this when I click a tab with the wheel button and close it without meaning - and about that, they could give as an option of stoping that very unhelpful behaviour.
An 2 tier tabs, could also be helpful. But that is another idea...
