Object visibility and graphical representation dialog

Object visibility and graphical representation dialog

We all do recognize this feeling: why on earth is my object not showing up in this view. I can see it in the 3D, but the floor plan doesn't show it. Sometimes Revit gives us a warning when placing objects: your object is not visible. There are over 30 possibilities why an object does not show up.

Another thing, you are searching why your object has a certain graphical representation, is it just an element override? Is there someone in the firm who created a view filter? Maybe it is the phasing, or is it even a linework override? There are 10 ways to override a certain graphical representation.

Revit knows why it is not showing you the object, Revit knows why the graphical representation is that particular way. It generates the view, isn't it?

Revit, make an option to click an object and explain why it does not show up in our target view.

Revit, make an option to right-click an object and identify the graphical representation.

This would be extremely helpful and it is always a pain when it happens!

Me: Create object.

Revit: The object you are seeking to create cannot be shown in this view.

Me: Please tell me which filter is causing this object to not be visible so I can change it.

Revit: No. It is known. Obviously it must be known. But you cannot know it.
