Non-Core Layers

Non-Core Layers

When unchecking the "Non Core Layers" option in the walls catagory, it would be nice if the Core wall component, if set to Structural, showed in a Structural view. If the wall is an Architectural wall, and the core element is marked as Structural, it should show in a Structural view.

I would be nice to see non-core layers be broken down into specific types e.g. Finish (type 1) Finish (type 2) Thermal Air Layer etc.

That would then allow for external cladding like brickwork to be still visible for dimensioning purposes while internal wall layers could be turned off.   Just an example 🙂

I had proposed something like this a few years ago. Currently, Medium and Fine look the same. I suggested having Medium show the Core faces and Wall Ext/Int faces. Then the "Fine" could show all wall layers.

@hmunsell if you submitted it as an idea I would vote for it.

I'm not sure why this wasn't a consideration on Autodesk's part from the very beginning.
