Make wall sweeps cut toposolids

Make wall sweeps cut toposolids

With Revit 2025 walls can now cut toposolids but sweeps on walls can't.

This idea is loosely related to this one "Toposolid workflow and tools #8 - Toposolid graphics vs linked files" in that it requires toposolids to be able to be cut by more element kinds

If you want to represent insulation in an area in contact with the ground, you often want it to run at a slope into the soil. One way to do this in three-dimensional terms in Revit is to modify the vertical structure of the wall with wall sweep. In the past, you could easily cut wall sweep out of the topography in the section using the Cut Profile tool. Unfortunately, this is no longer so easy with Toposolid. Here, the material of the sloped wall profile is no longer displayed as filled in the section. It is also possible to cut out Toposolid in this area using in-place mass, but this requires an unmanageable amount of modeling that is difficult to keep under control when a project is changed. Therefore, we would like to have the option of perhaps using an additional function in Toposolid to also be able to cut out wall sweep from toposolid by simply clicking on them. Because this is such a common representation of insulation in the ground in everyday architectural work, it would save a lot of work and 2D rework.
