Include Viewport Detail Number Parameter in Revit Schedules

Include Viewport Detail Number Parameter in Revit Schedules

The "Detail Number" parameter for viewports in Autodesk Revit is a valuable tool for organizing and referencing views on drawing sheets. However, currently, it's not possible to include this parameter in schedules or tables, limiting its usefulness for efficient view management and modification.

This proposal recommends that future updates to Revit include the ability to incorporate the viewport "Detail Number" parameter within schedules and tables. This functionality would allow users to:

  • Include "Detail Number" in schedules and tables.
  • View and modify detail numbers directly within the schedule/table.
  • Filter and sort viewports by detail number.

Modifying and identifying viewport locations within a schedule/table would expedite drawing production. Users wouldn't need to access individual sheets for these changes.

By incorporating viewport "Detail Number" into Revit schedules and tables, Autodesk would significantly improve view organization, management, and drawing production. This functionality would empower users to work more efficiently, precisely, and collaboratively. We strongly suggest that Autodesk consider this proposal for future software updates.

This functionality is  available, but you have to place it on a sheet first, Would be handy to be able to assign/edit have this whether or not a view is on a sheet

Not sure what kind of schedule you are creating but the "Detail Number" is definitely available for "View List" schedules.
