Conditional formatting in Schedules

Conditional formatting in Schedules

Using conditional formatting in schedules is limited.

More filter options would give a lot of freedom and opportunities to do more with schedules.

  • Possibility to select “family” or “type” from Fields.
  • Add more options to filter value -> e.g: contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, etc.

Now only “Equal and Not equal to” are available to filter value.

Filter options as provided in view filters would be a big improvement for conditional formatting in schedules.

I would like to see that conditional formatting change the text, not only the cell background.

That would also be a nice additional option indeed

I agree, the conditional formating is way to limited, and/or filter and contains/does not contain would be a good start. Text, fontsize etc could follow.

OH how I wished this was available right now in 2019

"I would like to see that conditional formatting change the text, not only the cell background."

This idea would be great as you can hide certain values that you don't want to see in your schedule by making the text white.

Another good idea

Wanted to filter a view list by View Name and we are limited to only 2 choices: "equal to" and "not equal to".

Who the hell is ever gonna filter for a single View Name...

plz add "Begin with", "Contain", etc.

Are you talking about Filter or Conditional Formatting?

Hi, sorry I have to be more careful with words...  😉

I was thinking FORMATING filters; we also have similar issues in Browser Filtering making View Name option completly useless...

3 years later... what's the status on this frequently asked topic?

Filter options overall could be more efficient.

Yeah, agree! We'll have to rely on add-ins or code it our self i guess... 😉

Do you have a brilliant add in? 🤔

Nothing yet that I know about to enchance built-in schedule capabilities.

For now the only way I know for fromatting would be to export to excel and link back as a drafting view... using something like RushForth, Ideate Software, etc.

Only one Conditional formatting is possible in Schedules.

Unable to add more Conditional formatting is possible in Schedules.

Currently, the conditional formatting within schedules can highlight cells where a value exceeds a static numerical value.

My idea would expand upon that, allowing the comparison between the values of two different fields.

For example: It would be fantastic for HVAC design, to be able to highlight within a schedules, any Zones where the Specified Supply Airflow is less than the Calculated supply Airflow, or where the actual Supply airflow is less than the specified Supply Airflow.

Currently, this is not possible without external resources, or creating custom calculated parameters.

This is possible using a calculated parameter and conditional fomulas.

Create a calculated parameter name "Airflow Check" specified as an 'Integer' and then use the formula if(Specified Supply Airflow < Calculated supply Airflow, 1, 0)

Then for the parameters you want to get highlighted add a conditional formula checking if the "Airflow Check" = 1.

You can then also make the calculated parameter a hidden field so it does not show in the schedule.

Dear autodesk,

please add new formating filter like max, min, larger, smaler,... and add a buton for option "apply to the whole line".

Thanks a lot

We still need this feature! Beyond what has been described above, we are looking for the ability to apply multiple conditions to the same column in schedules. While we know there is a calculated formula option, having this feature would significantly improve the time spent on schedules in Revit.
