Make the current work plane status directly available... on the user interface.

I would like to be able to see what the current work plan is and be able to change it using a drop-down menu directly on the user interface....

Please see the image below as to where the drop-down might go....

This will save you having to use the set tool and its submenu or the use of shortcut keys to know what your current work plane is set to... or if you want to change it.

I need to find more info about the current Work Plane when i'm selecting it. If the Work Plane belongs to a Level or to an Datum (grids), that info should be displayed in the Properties Palette. I can never tell if my current Work Plane belongs to Level 1, Levele2 or what other Level. I have to turn on Levels and Grids in V/G, and that is useless still, because the Work Plane grid is far off most of the times.

The angle (slope) of and inclined Work Plane should also be displayed in the Properties. The azimuth angle from Project North and/or from True North should be displayed too.

I can't find no use whatsoever for the WorkPlane Viewer. What is the purpose of that mini window?

I just found that there is no short cut or context menu entry to make a selected level the current work plane in Revit 2024.3. The idea would be to change that.

For 2D views, the screen plane should be automatically set as the current work plane. Like Tekla Structures does. It is so weird in Revit to see the Level 2 plan and model a column in Level 5 plan just because the work plane is set to Level 5. I don't even know where my work plane when my view is cropped. There should be a button in the Quick Bar to display the name of the current work plane.

I completely agree!   We also shouldn't have to click on something to see what plane it is set to.    A better information "dashboard" would be good.   "Current work plane" would be useful on the dashboard.   -
