Annotation Tag Justification

Annotation Tag Justification

Can we please have the ability to justify tags, set the text note width and set the leader style on an instance basis. Currently we have 3 versions of any label within a tag family, one justified left one justified right and the final one center justified these are then controlled  by visibility states that are set by family type so for each tag note type we have a family with 3 types a left, a right and a centre version. It works but it is a PITA, and doesn't allow for diferent instances of text width or leader type.

Hi. Here a suggest for the next update of Revit: we should have the option of justify the texts. Cause now, we just have the options to align left, right or center.

Hi, @plotagensHZKFA ,

Here are some similar Ideas related to text justification. Are any of these similar to the functionality you are looking for or can you provide more detail?

Any status on this option? We are looking for the leader line to attach to the edges of the revision tag triangle. Is there any way to change the reference extent format? This might help with the connection.

We should be able to adjust the alignment and width of the text in a tag/label on an instance basis without having to mess with a bunch of visibility parameters and create a multitude of types to preset these (short text, long text, left align, right align, center align, left+short, right+long etc. etc. etc.).  And vertical alignment too (top, bottom, middle).

If there's a leader on the tag, the text should align to the leader's side (like an AutoCAD multileader).

The default width of any given label would be set in the family to a particular value which could then be altered on an instance basis.

Upvoting this idea. Revit tags are archaic, very frustrating and time consuming to customize, and lack functionality. Basically, they should behave like text with alignments and leader locations. as instances.

AND grip location. As it is, when tags are customized to have the leader centered on the top line of text, the grip to move the tag is 2-3 text lines below the text. This is VERY PROBLEMATIC in details where there are many tags. Since there is no send-top-back / bring-to-front ability for tags, the grips get buried under other tags. So, if you need to move a tag, you can't see the grip of another tag was placed afterwards and hides the first one.

Just accepting that leaders are center on multiple lines of text has a drawback in that if the description that the label reads is changed and the number of lines of text changes, this may cause an overlap on other tags, either above or below.
