Allow alignment of material patterns applied to a family

It's currently not possible to align, move, or shift the model pattern of a material when it is applied to a family. Trying to do so will instead move the whole family. This is a huge issue for many family types and the only solution is to use filled region over the top in the project, which seems counter to all things BIM.

Example: a shower enclosure with floor tile, tile countertops, brick fireplace, vertical panel lines on butt glass panels, vertical panel lines of wainscot, wood panel lines on literally anything that isn't a Revit floor or wall...basically any finish that has seams or joints that needs to go in a family.

This is not the first time I have run into this before, but it would be great to be able to move around the fill pattern used in families. We have a face based panel family that we use for all wall finishes we ever use. One of my coworkers was using it to represent a custom brick tiling in an auditorium. It made sense to do that instead of creating a new wall type just for this, but Revit wouldn't allow any sort of adjustment to the pattern alignment, even though the pattern was a model pattern. Revit should treat patterns everywhere the same so that we don't have to create multiple ways of achieving the same thing

to have te ability to control a model pattern on surface in family objects, it could be just as the system families or even letting the patterns to be attached to a dimension parameter or reference plane, since it is too anoying to enter to the family editor every time need to align the patter and it interferes with the parameterization

My sugestion: Have a button to show the origin and X/Y positive axis of a pattern when we click a surface (like the paint tool). We could then align/lock however we needed to other geometry. No more guessing and praying it will stay right. When we are done, click the button again to hide that origin and axis of the surface.

Use diferent colors for axis like 3D Max while keeping the label small.

This workflow need to work both in project and family editor environment.
