Align Room tags, other tags, annotations
Please make annotations be able to be aligned. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING. This looks terrible and unprofessional. Readability is so important in our profession. Your smart tags are not smart. It takes me forever to try to align these.
It would be very useful is we can press a button and align the tags automatically without any overlap. We have some shop drawing with hundreds of tags to be placed and to be moved in the correct place. This will help also spooling drawings in 3D and many other type of drawing.
Just align outside the cropbox will be good and also create the arrows with rules regarding the angle: 0, 45 and 90 degrees.
There's already a free plugin available but, of course needs to be developed
It would be great to have a command to align room tags, because once they are placed, you can't use the align tool and sometimes it is quite frustrating to align them manually. I know there are plug-ins able to do that but it would be great to have it in Revit directly.
If you (not OP) can't see the issue with the tag in the attached image than you don't care enough about how stuff looks and you should get a job as a revit software engineer.
All text in Revit is atrocious in general. Having to just eyeball text in place is simply unacceptable.
I agree with mpwuzhere that making custom tags can help with alignment inside a single tag. Although it would sure be helpful if the OOTB tags were better AND even when making a custom tag the alignment options are limited. For example, labels should be able to align with and be locked to reference planes in the family editor.
But, even if that was fixed that still is only half the issue. Tags need to be able to align with model elements and with text! I would love it if someone could show me that I am missing something, but in the project it seems tags will align with each other great but not with anything else. For example, it should be really easy to align a room tag with other elements that define the center of a room or to align tags with other text notes!
