Add parameters to Revision

Add parameters to Revision

If we could add Parameters to Revisions (Shared etc.) then most companies could do revisions they way they want. We are currently limited but the fixed parameters.

Ideally when we add parameter we could choose if they are Visible in the Revision on Sheet Dialog.

As of 2020, this is still not an option.  Pretty Important though.   Who do we have to beat....I mean who do we have to contact to get this option?

To clarify, in my post above I'm actually wanting a "Type Comments" parameter (that's visible in the "Sheet Issues/Revisions" dialog), not just the "Comments" instance parameter that @jkidder mentioned.

For our quality management we need to show the author of a revision on sheet.

In the titleblock schedule it's not possible to add shared parameters.

Adding the projectparameter Author to the schedule is not sufficient, this will be applicable to all revisions.

Doing all kind of tricks (manually or adding a shared parameter per revision) is not what we want.

Adding a field for Author is what we want.

Can this be added to the Roadmap on short term?

Although the Names of the Parameters are 'Issued to' and 'Issued by,' you can have them appear as whatever you want in your titleblock can't you?

Do you want 'Author' as a parameter as well as Issue to and Issued by?

Otherwise it seems you should be able to use these already provided with a slight tweak to the way your title block appears?

Yes we want Author - checked by - Approved by

I have seen many requests to add parameters to revision manage.

Two columns for issued and approval people are not enough.

Could we have a button just to add parameter as a column in revision manage?

It really really help to control revision, also parameter for the title block family and sheets ...

Agree. Limit number of revision properties is quite annoying.

I agree. i would like the option to insert a instance parameter to call out the DCA comment # utilizing a revision tag.

Yes please.  Shared Parameters in Titleblock Families!

Agree that the ability to add shared parameters to the revisions would be very very useful

Any progress on this one?

Completely agree with OP... to conform to certain client documentation standards we are frequently required to include Rev No, Rev Date, Rev Description, Designed By, Drawn By, Checked By & Approved By against each Rev.

i would love to be able to add a project parameter to revision clouds to keep a running narrative as you work through the revision. this way you can pull a schedule on a sheet or index with the most up to date revision information. possibly eliminating the need for a narrative all together. lets be honest its way more likely to be read this way, most contractors do not read narratives.

Add an option to schedule the "comment" or another text based parameter of a revision cloud inside a revision schedule to make changes narratives inside of revit. This would have two advantages: A. Designers know why they made a change B. Designers could export a list of all their changes in a model by sheet and revision with a description

@kkarmilovich is this similar to your hidden text style idea? If so consider asking @kimberly_fuhrman-jones to join this post to Notes for team members - Autodesk Community

Currently each revision cloud element has an instance "Mark" and "Comments" system parameter built in, but we can't access that data in a Revit schedule.  The desired outcome is to have a revision narrative schedule based upon the system instance parameter "Comments".  Multiple "Comments" would be associated with each unique revision as well as identifying which sheet the views containing those revisions have been placed on.  I should be able to sort by sheet and revision ID to get a list of revision comments per sheet.

It is be very usefull to be able to add more parameters in the revision schedule.

I often need 5 instead of only 2 for different kind of approval initials.

Why not just make i Open for adding the parameters you need instead og a closed one

This wish list idea has been around for several years now.  Is there any chance that someone from Autodesk Developer Staff can comment on the reason why we cannot simply add each of the same DesignedBy, DrawnBy, CheckedBy & ApprovedBy parameters as options to include in the rev block just as are afforded to the initial sheet creation?  I am not an application developer but from my layperson perspective this seems like it should be relatively easy to implement.  Does anyone from Autodesk monitor this forum for product enhancement ideas?  Or might this not be the proper place to communicate these suggestions?

I believe this particular product enhancement suggestion has been proposed by many users for several years now.  Is there any chance that someone from Autodesk Developer Staff can comment on the reason why we cannot simply add each of the same DesignedBy, DrawnBy, CheckedBy & ApprovedBy parameters as options to include in the rev block out of the box just as are afforded to a title block family for the initial sheet creation?  I am not an application developer but from my layperson perspective this seems like it should be relatively easy to implement.  Does anyone from Autodesk monitor this forum for product enhancement ideas?  Or might there be some other, perhaps more appropriate, conduit where one should be proposing these suggestions?
