I'd like to use the "reference other views" to tag a 3d view. It would be nice to see in plan the point at which the 3d view is taken, and where it is targeting.
I need to reference my 3D details on my plans but I cannot because you can't reference 3D views. I can only reference Detail, Drafting, Floor Plan, and Reflected Ceiling Plan views. Fix this.
this is definitely needed, the workaround of creating views and then creating what is essentially what is a dummy callout to then fake a view reference to a 3d detail is a bit silly and opens the door for mistakes to be made.
This is definitely possible. You can easily create your own view reference tags. Simply create a View Reference Family, and design it in such a way that you can toggle Up-Right or Down-Left for example, and then load into project.
There is a work around. Create an elevation view, in the same place & oriented the same way as your camera. Next, drag both the elevation & 3D view onto the sheet. Now drag the elevation off to the side, select the view box and hide in view. You should be able to now print the sheet normally. You may need to make a custom drawing title in order to manually insert a different drawing number, which isn't too complicated.
This is a must have BUILT-IN. We pay a handsome some for a product that can't tag any kind of view. Not very userfriendly. And no, it should come out of the box and not something that I have to create a work around to do.
Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!
