How to make background half dark and half faded

depending on the background data and how it is created you should be able to select it, right click, override graphics by element, halftone....

i am working in document file which only contains links and if i select the wall and override, it override the whole wall while i want the specific , means i want to override graphics of one but the next room walls behave normal as dark lines.

by default...if you select the link...everything is selected and you can right click to make all of it halftone.  If you want to choose just certain items in the linked file....use the Tab key and the CTRL key to select multiple entities, then right click to change.
