Hi,
I was wondering if there is any possible way of creating a corner mullion profile? It is does not have to be anything fancy I really just want to add a detailed drawing so that I can see it whenever I do a section cut or something like that.

yes it is possible to create a new corner mullion profile. You can start with the Profile-Mullion family file (.rfa). Create the profile shape you want. Load it into a Revit project. Start the storefront wall command and place it. Look at the corner mullion profile being used in that wall. Find it in the list of families in the Project Browser. Duplicate it and swap out the profile it is using for yours. The change should be immediate to your storefront wall drawn earlier.

Hi, Hugo,
I'm Judy, a Revit specialist, and I'm following up on your post about the corner mullion profile. Did dzanta's reply help solve the question for you? If not, I'll be happy to help.
If the answer did help, it would be great if you'd click the "Accept As Solution" button so that anyone else with a similar question will know that this idea works.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you either way!
Cheers,

In Revit, the L, V, Quad Corner and Trapezoid Corner Mullions that come shipped with the software are designed to NOT allow for a profile to be used. The other mullion types (Rectangular and Circular) do. You will have to duplicate one of the Rectangular or Circular Mullions and change the profile to be used in that duplicated family in order to use it accordingly.
It would make sense that you should be able to duplicate the other mullion types but thus far...no.

i am trying to use this solution here, but there is no way to exchange the profile of a corner mullion... or am i doing something wrong?
L Corner mullion profiles cannot be exchanged.

thats what i meant... so there is no solution for this problem? (horizontal mullions not joining the vertical ones)
maybe a good workaround?
thanks!
As far as I understand, this is an issue in Revit that does not have a proper solution. I will try to look at this again asap...I am teaching clients in NY currently.

so i looked at it again....
any curtain wall mullion that you can right-click in the project browser>families...that has a profile section under construction within Type Properties, will allow you to create a custom profile and swap it. The corner mullions do not allow for this.
the horizontal and vertical mullions will join properly.

Hey, I got a way to make custom corner mullions. This one is what I have been doing in a current project where requires Shop Drawings of Curtain Walls
Do you mind to share the process with us?
Best regards

Hi,
Could you share the process which you have done in this.

what you can do to reach this result is let the horizontal mullions join normally, which they do easily, and create the corner vertical mullion as a model in place. It's obviously a workaround, but it looks perfect!
This is not a solution. Revit corner mullions need to have am editable custom profile option.
Hey guys. Sorry for this late response. but here we are
Here is the way to make a custom corner mullion:
1. Make a half profile of the corner. (Example: Left Side, Right Side)
2. Locate them at the end of the walls (Left or right)
3. Adjust the position until they are joined correctly: Move up or down if needed for getting the right joint
If you need any help about this issue, you can send me any email and I will get you back, shorlty

Have a nice day!
Any chance you would be willing to share the file? I've played around with it and keep falling short.
Thank you in advance
The workaround I've used is creating a column family, with a bunch of reference planes and parameters so you can get it to look right in a variety of conditions. It also gives you the upper reference and lower reference levels which can be useful.
