Why the lights are off when I open the Revit project in a different computer?

Dear everyone,

The problem I have is that all the lighting are off when I open the Revit project in a different computer.

There is something I've checked:

- Rendering setting: Interior: Sun and Artificial

- Artificial Lights: All "1" (means they are all "on")

- Lighting Family > Edit Type:

  • Photometric > Initial Intensity: 1380 lm
  • Other > Light ON(default): checked

There are five kinds of lights, and they are all OFF.

Now I don't have any clue why they don't light up.

Please let me know if you have any idea or experience to share 🙂

Thank you so much for your time in advance.

Sincerely,

Ann

Well, lets start with the category. Is it turned on?

Hi barthbradley,

Yes.

I checked the "Model Categories > Lighting Fixtures" and the sub-categories under it.

They are all ON.

Alrighty, scratch that one off this list.  Are you sure they are not rendering?  Do a Render and then jack up the Exposure Value under Adjust Exposure.

Hi barthbradley,

I rendered with "Interior: Artificial Light Only", and saw some lights came out from several lighting fixtures.

It's good enough for me. Thank you!

However, it comes another question: the diffuser is dark, and the material of diffuser is still there. (They don't need the image to link with, they are from default material library.)

I may try to attach the luminous material again or just photoshop it after rendering.

Do you have other advice?

Thank you 🙂

Best,

Ann

... Sounds like they are Rendering but not bright enough. Did you adjust your exposure, as I suggested above? You know you can also try changing your light properties to emit more light.

...Regarding the diffuser: if it's in a Link, then it's material is coming from the Link's Project - not the Host.

...If by "luminous" material, you mean "Self-Illumination" Material; note that this material attribute is not a light source - nor is it affected by light.
