View Title Precision

Hey Autodesk Forum Readers! I have been using Revit for awhile now but mainly doing modeling.

Now that the office is getting into documentation.. I am setting up templates. With that I have come across a frustration with the automatic "titles". Our office has a more rectangular / shape title and not a floating one with a circle and line. I would like to able to snap or align to remake the grid precise but quickly. So far I haven't found any solution for this and I have read through a bunch of different blogs / websites. Attached is an image of our grid in a blank form created from cad. Any thoughts in replicating this in Revit? Thank you Forum for your insight!

Unfortunately you can snap a View Title to anything.  Below is what I would do for typical detail sheets with multiple views, let's say 5x6" horizontal and 4x5" vertical grid.

1a. Place the 1st view on sheet, locate it properly either by Guide Grids or manually snap a reference plane of the view to a line on sheet

1b. Drag the view title to where I want it

2a. Place another view on sheet, same as 1a

2b. Drag the 2nd view title to snap on the 1st one, then move it a known distance (see above: 6" hor or 5" ver based on the sheet grid)

I don't have to do it for every view, only one full row an done full column, the view titles of the rest can be aligned using the automatic alignment guide by Revit.

Build a custom view title that is your grid box...you will have to eyeball where the lines are placed though for the first horizontal and vertical view.

Thank you for all the answers.

All very close to what I am thinking and wanting. I did find something helpful from another site that goes back to 2011 that seems to be closest to what I am thinking. Even though it still isn't a perfect solution it gives me the precision I am looking for...

I do wish out of the box the view title had snapping or aligning built in.

I have created and used this method with some success.

I make a group comprised of reference planes @ 7"x7" apply this to my detail view the group is snapable.

I then create a seed file to host all my standard details.

each group is based on 7" increments and it typically fills the drawing area of the various sheet sizes

I name the groups by size and this aligns my detail views on my sheet from either corner
