View structural elements (footing) in floor plan view?

Good evening,

Is it possible to view footings in a floor plan view versus creating a separate structural plan for the particular section?

For example, how does one make footings appear on a foundation-level floor plan?

Thanks for your reply, however I must be missing something that's fairly rudimentary:

I created my footers in my "foundation view" floor plan and when I finished the footers I was met with a dialog box that said roughly that "the elements would not be visible, check view settings" whereupon I attempted to toggle on that particular structural element (footings) in the Visibility/Graphics menu on the ribbon. I noticed no difference.

I then created a Structural Plan view of the foundation floor plan whereupon I was then able to see the footings. However, I'd like to see my footings in the floor plan view. If I use the "Show Hidden Elements" button and select my retaining walls above the footings, nothing changes. If I set the discipline to "Structural" in my floor plan and select "Show Hidden Lines" and select my foundation walls, I get nothing as well. 

Essentially I want my foundation floor plan to look identical to the foundation structural plan I created after I added the footings in the floor plan view...I'm not sure what I'm missing. I will upload screenshots to further clarify if necessary.

Maybe I misunderstood you. Drop your View Range and see if that corrects. If not, I look forward to seeing the illustration.

The view you created the footing has the view range above the footing (footing created from top down as default). You just need to extend the view range deeper and you will see them. Go to a section and see how deep you need to extend.

Thanks for your replies.

As my foundation section is the lowest section on this project, I cannot drop the view range any lower.

Again, it appears as if the footing wants to display in the structural view, but not in the floor plan view. I'm assuming there is a view setting for the floor plan that I am not properly toggling.

You can use an Underlay in your Floor Plan set to the Foundation Level.

Then use Linework tool and pick the footings (dashed line style).

Turn off Underlay, and linework will display. If you edit the footings, the linework will adjust automatically.

Same technique can be used for roof edges above the floor plan cut plane.

Thanks for your reply as well. I am going to post a screenshot to better illustrate my issue as all of these options should solve the problem but I must be missing something simple. Basically I want to duplicate the structural view in the floor plan view. You'll see that my foundation level is the lowest. If that is preventing me (meaning I need to create another level for footers) then that must be what it is. I'm clearly a newbie and trying to wrap my head around this as I go.

Yes you can still make the view depth and the bottom of the view range deeper for the lowest level view. Just click on the View Range button on Preperties of the structural view and replicate what you see for the view range of the Floor plan view.

Hahaha, wow, guys, how am I going to master this program if I can't comprehend your basic instructions...HERE is what FINALLY did it (Revit has got it ALL!) :

I completely MISSED the "Edit" button in the View Range row in properties..once I clicked that button I simply had to set my View Depth to "Unlimited"... gosh, don't I feel silly. THANK ALL OF YOU for your time!
