Unexpected Error

I keep getting an "unexpected error" whenever I try to delete a copy anything on an existing file and it won't allow me to make the change. Also, it says it is saving it from corruption so it has canceled the operation. Any thoughts on this guys? It just started happening last week and now it seems that any file I open now is having this issue.

Should I just reinstall Revit 2023 all over again?

Here is another error by trying to make a window larger which does NOT encroach into the other window so it cannot be that it is going into a space where there is already a model.

I'm just getting a whole bunch of these errors for trying to copy, or change a window/door size. I can't even do the interior doors that are Revit models out of the box. Should I reinstall Revit? This is 2023.

I appreciate the link but it isn't just making families...and these families are already in the file itself. I also cannot copy, nor can I cut walls or lines whether 2d or 3d. I'm really at a loss here.

I purged my file and brought in new door models from revit and it is still not allowing me to change doors, add new doors into any wall, or change sizes of doors already placed or change swing. Does anyone think reinstalling would take care of the glitch?

I'm wondering if this is related. There's been others like this in the past week or so.

I don't have any files or string of names like that in my system. I guess the only thing to do is reinstall and hope that fixes the glitch.

%USERNAME% should be your windows login name.

%VERSION% should be your Revit version.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Close all Revit Sessions on the affected machine.
  2. Rename the following file (instead of removing the folders listed in the solution below): C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%\DDGraph
  3. Restart Revit.

Alternatively:
Copy and paste a healthy DDGraph file from another machine, where the issue is not reproducible.

If the above steps do not help, clear the content of the following folders:

  • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%
  • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%

Thanks for trying but I still cannot find anything remotely close. And now it's not uninstalling so now I'm not sure what to do. Argh.

Here is a screenshot after unhiding those items...I still don't see Autodesk in the Roaming or any other folder.

Why are you in default folder?  Go back to Users and see a folder with you log in name.

Ok, now I see it. Here is the screen shot for both the Roaming and then also the Local. The Local is the one that I see has the DDGraph. What do I do with that now?

OMG...that fixed it. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your patience and walking me through this. I know architecture and how to use Revit, but I do NOT know this technical side so please know how grateful I am. Thank you so much!!!
