Trying to create a custom material from an jpeg image

Hi Y'all, I am trying to do something seemingly simple, but I can't seem to figure it out. I have to make a terrrazzo wall hatch pattern, and i found a great image i can use for this, but don;t know how to convert it to a custom hatch pattern in Revit. I tried using PyRevit to do this,  and i tried creating a pattern from Photohsop, but Revit does not recognize the pattern i saved it as  (.pat). Please see the image i want to make a  drafting pattern and a model pattern because i think both would be helpful. i just want this terrazzzo fill on my walls in some interior elevation. Hope this makes sense? HUGE THANKS IN ADVANCE!

even if that were possible, I can't even calculate how many lines of code would be needed to make that pattern - if you can even call it a "pattern".

...check out the Gravel hatch from the autocad.pat file or check on-line for something you can use to represent terrazzo.

...one more thing. What is the View Scale it is being shown in.  If it's a model pattern, the surface is likely to just end up displaying as solid fill.  No discernible pattern.   Know what I mean?

You can create the pattern with PyRevit, but you have to use multiple lines, not a filled region, to form each of the fills.

Are the pattern the size of the terrazzo aggregates?  If so, are you going to instruct terrazzo worker to sit down and arrange their aggregates to match your pattern?  It seems to be utterly ridiculous, does it not?

Recognize this building?  It is the Revit Sample Project. See that solid grey wall?  That's actually a 1"x1" Grid Model Surface Pattern.
