Uninstalling Revit for RevitLT - Do I uninstall my Revit content library to make space ?

I was working as a student with Revit2019 I had it installed on my PC. Recently I started an LLC and needed to get a business license for Revit. I wanted to test RevitLT to see if it would work for me so I uninstalled Revit2019 by going to programs and clicking uninstall. This however only uninstalled Revit but not the content library or other Autodesk Programs.

When I tried to install RevitLT its telling me I need more storage. I've tried installing on an external hard drive. I tried creating a "test" folder in my C drive and direct the download there... nothing works. I'm wondering if I need to uninstall all the Autodesk programs and trust they will be re-installed with the new one. My concern is I have families and templates saved that I would love to keep and I'm worried if I delete I will lose them all.

Can someone please help me. Ive attached a snip of the error message as well as the list of programs I have still installed.

If your hard drive is that full, making enough space to install the program isn't going to help much. You might be able to install it but you will continue to have storage issues and most likely performance problems.

I would suggest getting your hard drive down to less than half full or get another hard drive of equal size.

I have been using Revit 2019 all month up until yesterday evening when I uninstalled it. I didnt have any problems at all. However, am happy to get my hard drive space down -

My question is there are these Autodesk programs still associated with my Revit 2019 taking up the space. See this Autodesk Forum that explains which programs remain or see my attached image "Autodesk Forum" These programs listed are taking up the space that is needed to re-install my new Revit.  But my problem is 1. the forum attached says not to delete, which is confusing. 2. If I do delete will I lose all my custom family's, sheets etc. that I've worked on building over the last two years?

You're overcomplicating this. You can save your content with a simple backup of your data. At which point, you could actually remove everything Autodesk from your computer by following directions provided by Autodesk.

You say everything was working fine. Well, it isn't now, is it? Your hard drive is too full. You need to address that and not to get just enough room for the install, you will need more storage space.

The problem was I already deleted Revit - so I no longer had the ability to back up or save anything prior to reinstallation.

The answer to my question in case anyone read this is : Do not delete the old library or content. Find a way to make space using external hard drive etc. I used SymMover to help me move programs from my laptop to my external hard drive for free without code. Then Installed the new Revit2023 with  its library and content. At this point now you can backup and save  what you would like and then delete the older content from your previous Revit.
