Strange Shadow Behavior

While working on getting a railing to follow the slope of a ramp transitioning between 2 level areas, I just happened to turn the shadows on. I noticed that the shadows start at the base of the rails at the starting floor level, but they do not follow the railings as they slope down. Shouldn’t shadows follow the element? See below, the shadows are correct on the right side, but not as you move to the left. The shadows appear below as a kind of dashed line.

If you change the sun settings and set the Ground plane properly it should behave as expected

Can you take a look at the right corner in the saved view. I don't think it's acting right.

The shadow is displayed correct.

The Sun Settings for the 3D view have the Ground Plane at level 1.

The lowest part of the slope is below level one. As a result Revit only shows the shadows of the geometry above level 1.

Either create a new ground level or move the slope upwards.
