Single User / Network Single License - Revit License Scope question

Hello everyone,

I've been searching for an answer to my question on this forum, and also on http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/

but couldn't find what I was interested in, so here is my question :

Does the single user, the network single license ( or another one ? ) on Revit cover this particular theorical use case :

Client X is working with either .RVT or .IFC files ( don't necessary have both, but want to have access to both anyway )

Client X is using a program from my company that can import/export to .IFC, but can't open .RVT files.

Using an installation of Revit in the company, we use the IFC Importer/Exporter functions to return either the .RVT or .IFC files, by the usage of automation script.

Is this legal in anyway ? Is there any license covering this kind of usage ?

That's what I would like to know.

Thanks for your interest in my case,

Have a good day.

if these are 2 separate companies then no each company would need to buy their own license

Hello @Anonymous,

I have some information here on file importing/exporting from RVT to IFC, as far as the network license the company can have a user within their organization check out a single seat of the product(in this case Revit) to use the import/export function. If this is a user outside of the organization that the Autodesk contract was assigned to then that would be a violation of the terms. I will move this post for more input & suggestions on the product related questions.

Please review the LICENSE AND SERVICES AGREEMENT in the EULA folder located within the installation media files.
