Flip a Wall-based Family

Hello!

I have a family loaded into a wall-based family template.
I would like to flip that family in a project so it does not change side on the wall but is mirrored on the same side as it is on right now. Se the two pictures below. I have tried with "flip-control" but then it only changes the side of the wall.

Is there anyone who knows if this is possible and how I do this?

Have you tried the Mirror tool?

This will ask you to define an axis around which the mirror should take place. Click on the line you want to flip the wall around. Make sure that Copy is unchecked.

Yes, i have tried the mirror tool.

When mirroring the family either change side of the wall or I get the error-message "Can't place inserts outside of hosts. These elements won't be copied."

It isn't the wall i want to flip but the family attached to the wall.

Can you share a file with the wall in it?

What kind of family is the nested one? Sounds like it is face-based as well. You need one that is hosted to level (or unassociated) to make it mirror-able in this family.

I agree with @barthbradley.

If the nested family is a face based, then don't choose a face when you place it on the wall family, create a reference plane and constrain the location with a dimension from the wall face, then use it to host the family.
