SECTION CALLOUTS ADDING AN ELBOW

I am hoping there is an easy fix here. I have a section callout that lines up almost with our gridlines. I would like to put the section callout with an elbow to dodge the gridline. The gridlines are in a linked model and I can't edit those unless I want to copy monitor and turn off the duplicates for all of my sheets, just for this one instance of need.

I am hoping there is a way to make an elbow in the callout, please advise.

The elbow will not be at an angle but you can select the callout and then split segment.

An elbow like that, no. But you can add a "split segment". Select the section, look up at the ribbon, click split segment and add it where you want it.

So there isn't a way to just have the symbol shift out of plane? It has to change the area of the section for it to do it?

The section will be cut along the solid line but you can size your crop extents so it does not extend across the split.
