Scope Box Size

Is there any way to draw a scope box with a specific size? It seems the tools 'move' or 'align' do not work on this cuz you won't be able to pick up a point or line on the scope box.

I think not, and it is also quite annoying not being able to put an exact angle

No. Not even with API or Dynamo.  However, a scope box is to ensure every view using it having the same crop, not sure why do you need it to be dimensioned.

An example of this need would be having two scope boxes with the same relative top and bottom levels but different lengths and widths. Without being able to control the dimensions or use the align tool, all we can do is zoom in and nudge it to approximately the correct place and dimensions.

But close enough is good for me when it comes to view cropping!

The purpose is to crop the 3d and 2d views with elements exactly in a zone. I don't want to show any parts out of that zone and I won't separate a wall into small pieces and then do 'hide'.

You can precisely position two sides of a scope box and set the angle precisely:

• Create two perpendicular reference planes through the scope box
• Assign the scope box to the reference planes (in the "extents" parameters of the reference planes)
• Create new reference planes which can now snap to the ends of the ones limited by the scope box 
  

• Now you can select both these reference lines and the scope box at the same time and use the move and rotate tools, which will allow the scope box to follow the reference lines and snap correctly! 

  
• For example, here I used the above method to align with this grid system and provide a known offset from two grids.

Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to precisely control the other sides of the scope box. Because only the move and rotate tools work on the multiple-selection, I can't find a way to exactly align the opposite sides without breaking the original alignment. Scale doesn't work on scope boxes, or else that would allow precise control of 3 sides.

If anyone is able to expand this idea to get the other sides aligned precisely as well, I would be very grateful!
