Scheduling issues with windows in in-place walls

I have a model of an existing building which had a variety of existing wall depths so used an in-place wall. I'm now at the stage of producing schedules for windows and in the schedule it lists all of the windows but it doesn't recognise the room name if the window has been created in an in-place wall. standard wall windows are fine - see attached.

is there a way round this without creating a unique depth wall for every existing wall.

 

any help would be great.

We were looking for a solution where you can save your detailed revit links tab view template settings. This is in the case the revit link is blown away and we lose the revit link view template settings we can easily load them back into the view templates after reloading the revit link.
Isn't there a way to do this with an information file or in the software?

Hi!
I have the same situation and everything works properly.
May be you only need open a window family and move one end of the room calculation point a little bit like on a snapshot below.

many thanks for the response however i'm not sure I understand. attached is a screenshot of one of my windows - can you please help with which line is the room calculation point.

It's pretty simple. Just find the checkbox in window family, turn it on and the room calculation point will appear.

The room calculation point checkbox can be found in the family editor, same location where you can chose the category of your family. Extend it from both sides to it will be beyond the face of your thickest walls. Note that 1 side is "From Room" and the other is "To room", so in some cases you will need to flip your window to display the proper name.

You can also do the following. Select the "model in place" wall and uncheck room bounding. Then you can draw room separator line on the centerline or the other side of the wall. This way all windows will be considered within this room and will display their room name in the schedule.

found it and moved it but the issue remains. can you think of anything else. it has to be to do with in-place walls because the only ones that have worked are in regular walls.

the room calculation point method doesn't seem to work for me. turning the in-place wall room bounding off and then adding a room separating line on the outside of the window does work but that creates a new problem - the room area is now wrong.

 

I'll experiment with different windows and the first method but if anyone has any further ideas that would be great.

Follow my image to expand the arrow about 1 meter from both sides. It should work this way. Make sure you are using correct parameter in the schedule. (From Room: Name / To Room: Name). For testing you can add both to your schedule. In most cases you have exterior windows, so only 1 of these parameters will have a value since there is no room from the other side.
