Schedule Text Question

Sometimes I can click in the schedule area and the border commands let me add an Underline between the Heading and the body text.  Sometimes it looks like the same thing is working but the line never shows up.  Is there some special step I need to take to get better control over underlining the Header in schedules and legends?  By the way - I know how to use the outline tools.  They are what I am using to get the line to appear at all.  But the line becomes hidden. That is the problem. Please understand that the images shown are the same schedule. The only difference is that the blue one is selected.

This is what it looks like on the sheet.

As it looks on sheet.JPG

How it looks when I select it.

What is making the line under the Header disappear.  I can see that it is there, but ends up hidden.  Does anyone know the solution for this?

Thank You

Thanks "ennujozlagam"

However; I am in Revit 2015.  Below are images of the Appearance Tab From your Tutorial and my screen.  As you will see there is a missing "Underline" control.

I am still looking for a solution.

There are text controls in 2015. But the underline option has an issue too.

The controls are limited

I think the solution lies in figuring out how to have a transparent background in the text field, so that the text background does not block the border line.  Does anyone know how to do that?

The Screenshot from the tutorial is from an older version of Revit. In the mean time Schedules have undergone an upgrade.

While in the Schedule view you now have the option to add and remove borders.

For example in schedule 2 of the screenshot I have added a borderline at the bottom of the title.

In schedule 1 used a font style for the header where I chose underline. So it dpends what you prefer

Thanks for your comment

However; I am already using the border controls to add the underline.  My problem is that it doesn't show on the final page.  I have tried the outline controls in every way.  The underline / bottom line, of the box is there but hidden.  Please review the images in the initial post.

At the moment I can not reproduce your problem.

Can you upload your project, unneccessary items removed, but with the relevant schedule so that we can have a look?

Because you have Grid lines under Schedule Properties Appearance turned off.  It controls all schedule grid lines including the lower line of the Title cell border.  Turn it back on and the lower line of the Title cell will show.  The problem is it will turn on all data grid lines as well.  I have tried to assigne an Invisible line type to your data grid but alas, unsuccessfully.

Thanks for trying.  Yep. I even made a white line and a very light gray doted line trying to make a nearly invisable grid line and it always ends up being a typical thin line. It wont go grayer or dots.

The odd thing is; I have done the regular border controls on some of our other schedules and it all worked just fine.  Thats what makes this one a mystery.  I wonder if this one was imported from an earlier version of Revit and brought this problem along with it.

So, Still looking for a solution.

Move the schedule on the sheet, or delete it and put it back on the sheet. Any luck?

Also, double check to see if a View Template is applied to just this schedule, or the others that work properly.
