Roof penetration lines not showing in 3d or Elevation Views

A chimney structure cutting through a pitched roof. Lines missing from the views. I've tried a number of things including, cutting a shaft through the roof, creating an opening in the roof, joining and cutting the elements, changing course, detail views etc..... the red lines marked here seem to be invisible!!!!!

Why would this be happening? Any ideas would be much appreciated

Hi @ADT267 Try

2.PNG

2. Select line type.

3. Then you select the edge you want to show.

Just draw it in the sketch, no slopes defined, you can use pick lines on the chimney edges.

Accepted solution

I'm not clear why the opening edges are not showing if you placed a shaft through the Roof like you said you did.  Also, have you tried using the Join Geometry  tool to joint the two geometries together?

Thanks, your sketch was enough to show my problem (stupidity). I forgot to set the base/height of the cut. Doh!!!!

There's an old saying.... cant see the woods for the trees!!! So busy trying to set view settings, never thought to check the actual cut.
