Revit through Bootcamp Worksharing Issue

Dear Autodesk,

We are a small architecture practice and working with Macs throughout. We are running Revit through Bootcamp and have only recently started working in this way.  There is a problem we have encountered when a colleague is trying to create a local file.  Through online research it seems that Windows and Mac path folders differently and this is possibly the issue to correct.

  1.  Is there an easy answer/solution to this Revit workshare issue that autodesk can provide?
  2. Without being able to collaborate / workshare, our bootcamp Revit project is not an option.
  3. On a related subject, our autocad for Mac and autocad for Windows do not communicate with each other on the same network.
  4. There is the absence of any file read-only alert when 2 people are accessing the same file when working in point 3.
  5. The xrefing is not clean either with xrefs not being found when using autocad for Windows in bootcamp.

I hope the above detail is clear enough to gather a solution.

Thank you in advance.

Hello, Paul.

Regarding your multiple questions in the forum, I would like to take on as many as I can answer for you.

First, Revit Worksharing: I did research, and only found other forums addressing this Worksharing issue from many angles. The most complete information I found about this is available >HERE<, where multiple users have discussed workarounds to get it to work, with servers and added hardware. This forum also addresses Bootcamp Revit.

Points three, four and five are related to AutoCAD, and cannot be serviced here, as this is a Revit Forum. Any AutoCAD questions need to be redirected to their own specialists.
