REVIT NOT USING NVIDIA GRAPHICS CARD?

Hello, I have R19. I want to switch the graphics card it uses from the default computer one to my nvidia gtx 1070. I have added revit to the list of programs in my nvidia control panel but revit is still not using it. Any ideas on how to use the better graphics card?

Need more information about your computer such as laptop/desktop, brand, and the other videocard.  Did you look at Revit graphic settings and not see the GTX listed?

@Anonymous, you need to disable the integrated video card in the BIOS or through the device manager.

This is for Autocad, but it applies to Revit too.

I figured I would ask here since we are on this topic. 

I installed my new video card an Nvidia p600 I have checked it against what is in the certified hardware list. I have installed the driver, I have disabled the "built-in" graphics card. However i am still getting this Error;  

"Hardware Acceleration disabled. Software emulation mode is in use. Revit detects an unsupported video card '' and driver ''. You may continue to use Revit in software emulation mode.
Consult your system administrator to resolve this issue."

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Uninstall all video card drivers....intel and Nvidia...restart the computer.  Install the Nvidia drivers.

FYI...some Dell laptops don't like it when the internal card is disabled in the BIOS and disable the dedicated card as well.  The only option is to set the Quadro as default all within Windows.  So if the driver install fails you will need to re-enable the card and then reinstall the driver.  Sometimes disabling the Intel card in the Device Manager works too...they keep getting more and more finicky lately.  The reason I buy mobos without internal cards for my PC's.

I did as you advised but the only thing is now I have all these ghost lines appear. I checked the graphics performance and it is using the graphics card (p600). Any additional help would be appreciated.

I should clarify, in Autocad i get ghost lines, for Revit I still get the same error.

What kind of connection do you have between your video card and the monitor?  I had this happen to me when I had a DVI connection and using an adapter.  Once I switched to a DPI-->HDMI connection (Monitor has HDMI) I no longer had issues.  Also if you tried using the latest and greatest driver you may try a previous version. 385.69 is the certified version.  You can also turn off Hardware Acceleration by typing 3DCONFIG (Autocad) and then turn on each effects one by one to see what works and doesn't work.

IMO though....P600's should not be used with Revit.  I know they are on the list, but they are just not powerful enough.  More than likely you will be turning off HA in both Revit and Autocad.

Is this specific to a particular model or any model?

I Have an HDMI connection, I will get the previous version to see if that helps as well. 

I do agree that I should upgrade to a better card, but since I will be using 3ds max soon I want to make sure that I chose one that would be sufficient.

Any recommendations?
