Revit link filter with Boolean Shared Parameter doesnt work in Revit 2022+

Hello,

In Revit 2021 we were able to use a shared parameter Boolean to filter elements in a linked  model and give them a certain override.

This no longer works for Revit 2022 and onwards? Did things change or is this a bug? Text parameters still work, but for some reason Boolean dont anymore.

Kind regards,

Fabian

Are you sure you use the correct Shared Parameter? They might have the same name in the different project files, but that doesn't mean they are actually the same. Revit uses the GUID of the parameter and if that's different in the project files, it doesn't work. To check the GUID, export the Shared parameter for all project files involved, open the files in notepad and confirm the GUID to be the same for all projects.

Thank you for your response, i double checked this and its the same Shared Parameter file and same Guid.

I even tried creating a complete new Shared Parameter Boolean, but it seems not to work. I tried it now with 3 boolean Shared parameters but no success.

Kind regards,

Fabian

i don't see any problem or bugs here, but you should control have not the duplicate variable share and not share:

Did you use a link model? We used shared parameters so we can use them for filters and schedules.

I see twice the same parameter?

Yes, the first one is Shared Parameter and the Second One is the project parameter.if i make a mistake and check the second one the filter does not working well.

Hi @fv3,

From the selected link element I can't be sure if the Yes/No is actually used.

A yes/no parameter has 3 modes: Yes, No and "has no value", from elements selected in links or groups the property is viewed as Read-Only and Yes and "has no value" is visually identical.

Try it with the filter set to "has no value" or open the link and make sure the Yes/No is not grey but has a black check.

Thank you for your response. They are both on Yes. The filter just doesn’t work for the link model. And everything is set by host model.

 Fabian

Is the link in the view by any change override set to ByLinked view, if so the filter won't work on it.

Other than that I can't think of a reason why it doesn't work.

If possible share the models?

Sorry for my late response, here an example model. Open R22_2D and link R22_test_3D.

then you will see that the filter doesnt work.

**wrong example see later post.

Hoi Fabian,

You are right indeed, i added the shared parameter as a project parameter in my Link model. (I added to the wrong caterogy... My bad)

Now i can filter override the elements.

Thank you for helping me out! I translated your solution in english if others run into this issue aswell.
