Revit File Size Increase

I have problem with revit file size,

I have modelled this metal claddings using void and dynamo to cut edges.

The problem is when fill some parameters using rhino inside via grasshopper file size  increases unreasonably. It's just some text.

Only Zone parameter makes this much difference. Is there a bug that I am not aware of or just this how things go with revit.

Unfortunetly I can't share files but if you need anything I can 3d model it for you. Let me know if you need anything.

Complicated models make bigger files. Looks like you modelled every single tile - that will increase file size. It depends on your needs - do you need every tile modelled? Then accept a bigger file. Do you need a small file? Then use a surface pattern instead of 'loose' tiles.

Thanks for replying,

I tried other ways in the past and i think this is the best way for this project. I know it has potential to make bigger files but my problem is parameters does that. If I delete all off them it goes down something like 150 mb. Is this normal or is it a bug? Is there a way I can check that somehow?

We have no control over what a grasshopper script so there is nothing you can do from the Revit end.  IMHO, file sizes are not a big deal, if you get what you want from the script then so be it.

How big is the panel family size? If the panel family is 1.5-3MB size and you have thousands of them, then use math (1.5-3MB x Number of Panels) and the file size will be exactly what is displayed.

I have copy pasted one of the panels in new file and deleted other things and purged it. File size is 1.860 kb and I have 22700 panel. If I did calculated it right, file size should be about 40gb. Doesn't seem right to me.

Oops, you were talking about family size which is 464 kb makes it about 10gb i think

The main project is on a server and as file size increases sync process becomes painfully slow unfortunately. So I am looking for other ways to decrease size.

If Revit file doesn't have compression, yes it will display as gigabyte in size. With that many panels and Revit compression, so the file size is set as is. I don't see any way to keep the file size smaller unless you export them as CAD and import them as dumb geometry.

Little update,

It magically goes down 100 mb after deleting 1 link and saving it again.
