Revit Curved Curtain Wall

The curtain wall in Revit is an incredibly useful tool for quickly and accurately creating building facades. With it, users can develop detailed facades by incorporating elements like glass, metal panels, and other materials easily and effectively. Let's explore how this tool can be used to create curtain walls with perfect curves.

How It Works: In Revit, the curtain wall is a construction system composed of panels, mullions (vertical and horizontal profiles), and fixings. The panels can be configured to include glass, metal panels, opaque materials, etc.

How to efficiently generate a curved curtain wall?

To be able to efficiently generate a curved curtain wall, we can simply and with a few edits achieve the desired result:

SETTING UP THE BASIC WALL

  1. with Revit open, create a basic wall to serve as a panel
  2. Edit the wall type, edit the structure, and enable the preview for section

  1. Add footers according to the type of amount you need
  2. Add skirting boards at the top and bottom of the wall and adjust the spacings

  1. Select the wall, edit the type, and swap the panel with the basic wall you created
  2. Remove the horizontal uprights, keeping only the vertical onesvitorbortoncello_5-1719602178783.png

The freedom to experiment with shapes and volumes offered by curves allows for a more creative expression of architecture.
