Revit cannot reconcile the differences between your local file and central model

I haven't found a way round the following error message when sync:

Revit cannot reconcile the differences between your local file and central model. You can find more information about the errors in the worksets dialog.

Help more than appreciated.

Why are you opening the local file? Did you forget to synch with central before closing?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi, I am having the same issue while synching my local file to the central file.  There are (2) of us in the office working on the same model.  We are using REVIT 2020.  It seems to me that the conflicts arise from both of us working on the same elements.  Shouldn't we get prompted that someone else has ownership?

If you are having the same issue then you shouldn't be opening the local file. Always create a new local from the central model.

If Revit is allowing two people to move the same element it is because both are logged in as the same user.  I had a boss that was too cheap to get all of the interns their own Revit account, so they were all on one account, and it caused this problem frequently.

Essentially, normally Revit will assign ownership to one user until relinquished.  But, since both people appear to Revit as the same user, they both are recognized as the owner of that element and are allowed to move it.  But, when the second person tries to sync, Revit doesn't understand the conflicting information of User A moved this here, but also here.

Just make sure everyone is logged in as a unique user.  As a quick (and cheap) work-around, just ensure that nobody is working on the same tasks/elements at the same time.

You cannot say that is what is happening from the given information.
