  • Scroll bars are hard to see (medium gray on slightly lighter gray). They only get darker when you select them but work whether or not you're right on them.
  • Text is gray on lighter gray in palettes, even when the option isn't locked.  Locked text is even harder to read being only slightly darker than background.
  • Fill-in boxes on the option bar are the same color as the option bar, making it difficult to tell whether it is editable.
  • Other ribbon items are too simplifed or too light. Some things that were black and white are now in color. Other things that had a light blue background when selected are medium gray obscuring the foreground elements, like the pick lines button.
  • Everything is flat looking. Losing the drop shadows on some buttons didn't improve their look.

Dark theme is generally more readable but fails with hover color of most of the buttons. Going from darker gray background to slightly darker is almost imperceptible.

It's so difficult not to be cynical when after months and months of complaints there's no fix or even a lukewarm acknowledgement from AutoDesk that they might consider looking into this issue.  Hard not to think it's 99% about the money for them, and only 1% about the users.  I hope their investors love them, because it's hard to think that many of their customers do.

Complaints in a user help forum hardly ever get acknowledged or addressed by Autodesk.

Very true.  But they also haven't responded to a similar thread under "Ideas" either:

If there's a better way to bring this to their attention, I'd love to hear it!

Not sure there is. You've done enough. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

On a side note, I saw a coworker doing stuff with his Revit interface graphics that is not a part of the options. He said it was some Windows add-in or something. Maybe you can solve the issue without Autodesk.

Oh cool - I went and voted that one up. Clearly it's a somewhat hot topic. 🙂

If you can find out any further information on whatever fix your coworker is using, I think quite a few of us would be rather grateful 🙂

It's unbelievable that there is no consideration for the users. Let's piss them off in their Facebook page and so on.

I agree with everything here. If you compare the text from Revit 2024 to 2023 it's not only lighter it's blurrier too. Staring at this all day makes me feel like I need to get my eyes checked or as if I forgot to put my contacts in. Please change it back!

I also, went to do a product review and agree, Revit is not on the product list for some reason. So I'm just going to submit it under AutoCAD.

Yes make a GUI that are more easy to read with more contrast, I have not started to use revit 24 because of this issue.

There's no answer from Autodesk regarding this serious issue. That's also not acceptable.

OK, then i have to use Revit 2023 until the issue hopefully will be adressed...

unfortunatelly I was forced to start using it due to a new project/team that was started in 2024.... work has become quite a bit less enjoyable and also a bit more difficult....

@RSomppi,

2025 does not seem to have addressed the issue, it's still looking just like 2024. Haven't dug too deeply into the settings yet to see if there's anything new that will help (been too busy wearing my other hat and trying to get our add-ons updated due to the behind the scenes changes that are affecting the API).

We might as well all go and use sketch up, I have noticed a number of engineers doing this already.
May be this will wake them up!!
