I just upgraded from Revit 2021 to 2023, and I can’t find the family content library.  Please advise me where they are.

Thanks!

If you mean file location in your PC, must be here:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2020\Libraries\US Metric (or default language)

Keep in mind that you can upgrade your earlier version content as well.

FWIW: you can also load content from the cloud.

I have downloaded the content but am unable to view or load it in Revit and it's very frustrating, are there any videos on how to do it?

I'm in the same boat. I just installed RevitLT 2023 and can't find families.

When I look for the files through file explorer: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit LT 2023\en-US

I reach FamilyRes.dll, and no .rfa files.

When I use filepath in Explorer mentioned in Message 3: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2023\Libraries\US Imperial

my computer can't find it.

In Revit, when I search under Component --> Mode --> Load families, the folder is empty under filepath

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit LT 2023\Templates\English-Imperial

When I download, install, and restart revit with English content file from the link in Message 2,

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-revit-2023-co...

the all of the above - through File Explorer and through Revit Load Family - happens the same.

So far, Forum and Autodesk answers have not led to a solution.

Hi Catherine,

I too struggled until I noticed that I was looking in the C:\Program Files folder instead of the hidden file C:\ProgramData.

Here is the procedure to unhide it:

Open File Explorer from the taskbar. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
