Crashing in Edit/Modify Boundary v2023

Hello,

Since yesterday I first had an issue with a stair railing not being able to be viewed in a floor plan, I removed the object and it fixed that issue, but since when I try to edit or modify a floor or anything with a boundary (I move the line and I get a no entry symbol), then I get an error and crash. I also now cannot upgrade any file from 2022 to 2023 without an immediate crash.

So I have now done a complete clean uninstall of everything in this list (3 times):

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-Com...

I removed all the files from my computer just in case.

After the clean install, I opened up a revit template file to check (not one of mine) and it still crashes when I try to move a boundary line.

Please help!

You seem to have spun out of control. Are you saying all this stems from a stair railing not being able to be viewed in a floor plan?  What "object" did you "remove" that initially resolved the issue?

It feels that way.

I managed to figure out the railing on the stair was causing the first problem  (That was the only one at the time). So I removed it and then I could see the floor plan again. Beforehand it would just close the plan view it was on.

So then I needed to do a bunch of changes to my layout and as I was moving walls and then the floor plate to match, I started having an issue with the Boundary line. Inside edit boundary, I tried to move a line and got a no entry sign and then it crashed. (This also happens with the roof etc. Anything I have to edit internally)

What is weird to me is if I have done a clean install, why would I still have the issue with a boundary edit?

On a side note, a while back I upgraded this file from 2022 to 2023.

Thank you for writing back so fast!

Personally, I wouldn't have reinstalled over these issues. Honestly, it just sounds like a user error - not a problem with the software.  No offense.

Thing is, you seem to be in some sort of pickle now - one that would be hard for us to get you out of.  Maybe your best course of action would be to contact Autodesk directly by opening a Support Case or contact your Autodesk Reseller.

Had Autodesk support look at it for 3-4 hours and couldn't fix it and was going to pass me to someone higher up, so I decided to reset my computer with all files in place and it worked! It was something corrupted on my computer somehow.
