Does anyone have a comprehensive list of all the locations on a local hard drive that Revit accumulates backup and temp files? So far I have the local file directory, the windows temp folder and the journal file directory. Just learned about that last one, Revit stashing backups of families opened from a network location.
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\
(Default Local File Directory)
%TMP%
(Windows Temp Directory)
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 20XX\Journals
(Network File Backup Directory)
That it. Your list is complete - unless something is different under your hood. What's the end game here? Are trying a add a turbo-charger?
...this may or may not be useful to you, but take a look at this Link to see if you can glean anything from it:
If you are using BIM Collaborate Pro (former 360 Design) or any ACC product, must add this folder to the list: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit ####\CollaborationCache (where the #### is your Revit year number).
We had a similar issue at the studio, on 256GB SSD's. It was very annoying to clean those folders every time. But it was worse before, when we had HDD's, not because space but speed. Imagine to save a near-to-1GB file at four folders at a time...
