There are a lot of factors that can make Revit shut down unexpectedly:

1) Check Revit 2019 System Requirements
2) Check Certified Hardware

3) Please make sure the computer has more than 5 GB of available disk space and at least 4 GB of RAM.
4) Update Graphic Card drivers
5) Is Revit updated (Last Service Pack)?
6) If you disable Add-ins that are installed into Revit, does it still crash?
7) Try to disable Hardware Accelerator

If nothing helps, can you tell us more about the crash?

- Is the issue specific to a particular project?
- Is the issue specific to a particular workstation?
- Is the issue specific to a particular view?

- Is the issue specific to a linked file?

I'm quite sure @Viveka_CD can help you if you send her your journal files.

Hi @Anonymous

Can you send me a recent journal and also check if you have the latest updates installed for your Revit version?

Thanks for the alert @Avaris.

Regards,

Are you using Revit central files on Dropbox?  That could be a big issue.

The other is your model has been upgraded since 2015...there has been lots of changes since then, so you may have some funky glitches still hiding.

Also...what kind of connection are you using?  Are you in office or working remote?

Hi,

We are working on central files true Revit Server 2019, and in office, not remote.

If your R:\ drive is connected to directly to a Dropbox share.... Move the files to the Revit Server and link from there.  Looks like Revit is sending a display crash after that link.

Hiii...!!!

Reinstall the software again and then may be you will get problem solved,  check the Graphical Hardware requirements in the download page. Some times due to that software get crash again and again, low graphical hardware.

We are experiencing this on our first Revit 2019 project.  Only certain views, not all the time.

We re-created the views, deleted original and the new views will still crash Revit sometimes.

@bberggren

Looks like there is something else causing this behavior.

Does this occur with add-ins disabled?

Can you share a journal to test further?

Central file in on LAN, latest Revit updates installed.

User opened Revit, created new local file and immediately tried to open plan view and Revit crashed.

This failure occurs on different computers. So far, we think that this is due to lack of memory.

@Nurlan-A. and @bberggren

Does the crash result in a CER?

If so, can you please provide a CER number?

Thanks,

When this occurs Revit just shuts down.  No opportunity for a recovery file or anything.

One user crashed again this morning.  His computer has 123GB free on HD (500 total).

Physical memory was at 30% usage and Virtual memory was at 20% usage.  So I don't think memory is the issue here.

The only other programs running at the time were Chrome, Outlook, Bluebeam, Windows Explorer, and Skype for Business.  I have attached the journal file from this crash.

At least two others Revit users have experience this on this project.
