Revit 2017 annotations disappeared when crop view on sheets

Hello all,
I need to divide elevation into smaller parts (smaller paper size), but I need to have annotations the way they look like on the whole bigger sheet. The problem is, that they disappear when i crop view for a sheet...
firstfirstand then when i crop..and then when i crop..
Any ideas how to preserve annotations?

there is an annotation crop region that is functioning properly.  Place a checkmark in the box labeled Annotation Crop within Properties Palette.  It will show up as a dashed box outside of the crop region.  Make sure all annotation you want to see is within this box.  Any annotation that gets cut by the annotation box dashed linework will disappear.

To be more correct: I need all dimensions to be on the smaller sheet, even if they measure something that you do not see, and the dimension lines are cut in half with crop view line. I need to see dimension lines to elements that are beyond crop view (you don't see the elements)...

dimensions by default only show up when the objects that are being dimensioned are visible.  If you hide the object, the dimension does not show up.

perhaps a screenshot of what you are trying to accomplish would help?

As Dzan says, you have to have the elements that are used by both ends of the Dimension String visible for the Dimension itself to be visible.

In other words, you can't have a half a Dimension just hanging out in space, with no idea what it's dimensioning to.

But you can break the Elevation. Select the Crop Region and then click on the little "squiggle" on the top.

That will split your Elevation into two pieces. From there you can adjust the main portion to display what you really want to see. Then adjust the other side to be as thin as possible without making your Dimensions disappear. You can also move the thin section as close or far from the other half without the Dimension value changing.

You can't make the thin part go away altogether, but you can minimize it.

The problem is,that I have to divide main sheet, groundplans each into 7 smaller sheets...so there will be problems with this kind of solutions. In Autocad there is no problem with this page settings and only way to resolve this now is exporting revit files into autocad... and to this there - set up layout, because you can there 😛
Or draw lines in Revit by hand...

Maybe this error will be repaired in newest release of Revit...

I would use Duplicate as a Dependent feature to do what you need....

Nope...
I'm still fighting with my colleagues opinion that you can't do this in Revit....

my apologies but I haven't had enough coffee today....I can better help you by directly accessing your computer via remote control and we can work out the issue via this method and via phone for voice communication.  If you want me to do this, I just need your email address so I can send the remote control invitation to you.  Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous

I just wanted to follow up here, any progress on this issue?

If you still seek assistance, I'd like to help you with this issue. Would it be possible to share this file with me?

I can create a private folder if you'd like.  This would be pretty hard to diagnose without seeing what's going on in there.  Thanks!

Has this been solved yet?  It is not rocket science! Autodesk / Revit have obviously not worked in real architecture! It is very common when dividing a large floor plan into quadrants to get it to fit on sheets and we as architects want the **** dimensions strings even if they are partial to show up.

Hi @ross.tidwellF8CEQ

There are some inconsistencies in displaying dimension lines in cropped regions. A dedicated team is investigating and has been working on this for a resolution.

Which version of Revit are you working on?

Can you clarify if the crop region is rectangular or non -rectangular?

The possible workaround described here:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/show-a-dimension-going-outside-of-crop-regio...

See the following Idea on the REVIT Idea station:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/hard-cut-for-crop-view-and-annotation-crop/idi-p/6346059

Looking forward to your reply update.

Also, in addition to my previous post, please take a look at the article here that has information regarding  -

Dimension segments inside of a cropped region that won´t get displayed in Autodesk Revit if the dimension line is cut with an annotation crop region edge.
