Railing: Rapresentation

Hi all,

I would like to know if there is a way to rapresent balausters and/or handrail as single line.

That is because sometime balausters in scale 1:100 (e.g. Diameter 30mm and distance from previous 130mm) see very bulky.

  1. go to Object Styles and create a New Subcategory ( Modify Subcategories> New) for Railings - (I'v created Central Line subcategory)
  2. then in VGO uncheck everything but Central Line

I think  it is a problem with my first post...it doesn't work as I've expected to..

So I suggest to use the following method:

  • turn Railing in Edit Mode
  • in Edit mode, select the path (the magenta line) and Copy it to Clipboard
  • exit from Edit mode and Paste the Line into the Project - use the Wireframe Visual style to be able to see the line
  • in VGO uncheck all the Railing ...

Hi,

It might be a solution, but how you would do with balausters?

Wit Balausters you can because is a lodable family thus you can use Symbolic Line.

But hand rail are just 2D profile extrusion.

Shouldn't your top rail cover everything below it? Why would you see balusters?

"Bulky"? Sounds like more of an issue with Line Weight of the Balusters.  What's the Projection and Cut Line Weights?

I believe this is the best integrated solution instead of modifying families and handrails.
