Hey.

I have a special case in which i need "Elevation override" Parameter which i created, to replace the regular Elevation parameter in schedules. **Only when Elevation override parameter entered**.

That should be done with a formula on schedule properties window, right?

No. The file I just uploaded has all the family types and with the elevation fix. You need to close the family you have open and edit the one in the project.

I think i am missing something about the placing of the edited family. both yours, and the nested family is hard to place.

Here i compare between the old family and the improved one: (the first is the old family)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE5Y5519M-E

after hitting space it allows me to places it, but yet, not on the right plane.

What has been changed in the family that changes the way it places?

If you place from a plan view, only change Elevation, not Elevation from level.  The open an elevation view and lock the bottom grip to the finish floor or level and change the Elevation to Level if necessary.  If you place in an elevation view then you can skip the 1st step.

I can get it to work after lots of attempts in one project, in other project nothing helps and it's kind of placing it inside the walls.

The practice of placing this family is different from the original family. there's no way to make it work like the original family? is that happening because of that "weak reference" that came up in the improved family?
