Project base point without Clip function Relocate.

Hi!
My project including 3 Files( Landscape, Buiding 1 ,2).

Because of the change in design. So Project base point (PBP) has changed.
-Building is not a problem because the PBP is in its own pivot grid.
-Landscape file is using the same PBP point of building 1.

When I Relocate it, the objects in the file also move.

I understand the problem is because the clip icon of BPB is no longer available.
But is there any solution to this problem?

Thanks
----------
I using Revi 2020.2
Serveypoint 3 File : in border line - property line of project (x,y, z>0)

Project base point ( Landscape, Bld1): x1, y1, z1 >0

                                                         Bld2 : x2,y2,z2 >0

- Pick a model to govern the location, for example: Building 1

- Link Building 1 in Landscape center to center, move to match location, acquire coordinates

- Link Building 1 in Building 2 center to center, move to match location, acquire coordinates

After you have done the steps above, open Building 1 and link Landscape and Building 2 using Shared Coordinates and they all line up.  Same for all others.  You can move Project Base Point in any of the models any where without affecting their location when linking.

I need to confirm a few things:
1-According to your instructions:
1.a- Will choose Bld 1: file as "source file" of SP and PBP.
1.b- link Bld 1 to other files (Landscape, Bld 2) and Acquire Coor.
Did I misunderstand something?
2- Currently I have finished drawing Landscape (Ls):
I need move PBP (of Ls file ) to new position and not move other objects in the file.
I usually place PBP at the intersection of X1 and Y1 (Z at level 1)
2.a-Relocate ensures that PBP and Internal Origin (IO) have the same coordinates, but also causes all objects in the file to move along.
2.b-If I move the PBP it doesn't move the other object but the PBP and IO won't be in the same position anymore. It is possible that setting the PBP of the Ls file is not required. But when I linked the files together and noticed that PBP position not the same, felt quite uncomfortable (OCD feeling)
So, what i need to do?
Thanks alot.

Your description is a little confusing to me, but FYI, the Project Base Point has nothing in common with the Survey Point - or Shared Coordinates.  Additionally, Relocate Project moves the model relative to the survey coordinate system.

Maybe turning on the Internal Origin will help you understand the "smoke and mirrors" happening before your eyes.

Move PBP to wherever you want.  It does not affect location of your model.

No.  Read above.

IO and PBP don't have to be in the same position.  You can move the PBP of each model to where ever you want so they line up when linking together.

So, what i need to do?
Thanks alot.

Are the Links in the Projects Shared?  If so, they are locked to the SP.

Hi!
My way of starting a project:
Create a File (specify SP, then PBP for a Bld) and save as to each required file.
I recently updated my Revit 2020. And I don't see the Clip icon of BPB anymore. While confused with this loss, I came up here to look for some light.
Maybe someone can explain why they act so cruelly...

What about point 2a?  Since the Project base Point is no longer clipped you can move it anywhere without independently from the model elements.

I mean, Because I want to move (BPB) it independently along with IO to a new location.
Now I see what you mean by "No" as: "No, you cant" not " No, Relocate PBP and IO.... is wrong".

If you want to seamlessly coordinate your model with the links coming not only from Revit, but other sources such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infraworks, Navisworks, ArchiCAD, etc... then Shared Coordinates is the only solution.  Forget about using Internal Origin as a means to locate your model.  The only thing you need to be worried about Internal Origin is your model is relatively closed to it, not miles away.

That's not the way you START a Project.  Sorry.  That doesn't even make sense, Sir.

can you share your experience on how to start the project and edit when there are changes (specifically in my case).
I am here to learn (: Thanks

I don't understand what you you're asking. You say now that you want advice on how to START a Project AND how to EDIT a Project when there are changes.  I have no clue what changes you are talking about.  Based on what I read so far, it just sounds like you are confused.  There's nothing to be "edited" per se.
