Well, when I click it, the drop-down menu shows up... but on my other monitor ![]()
They've got some pretty substantial UI graphics issues to get fixed.
hahaha, that was it! It was on the third monitor at the bottom corner... when Revit was on the first one... The ribbon Icons sure are pretty though ![]()
Hi EATREVITPOOPCAD, thank you for reporting this issue. We are trying to reproduce this issue on our side. May I ask what is your screen settings and display resolution? Does this issue occur on the third monitor only?
@stephanie.zhouQE5VB This occurs when Revit is on any monitor. However, the create new material drop-down always shows up on the bottom left corner of the third monitor from the left regardless (Monitor #2 in the screenshot) I drew a red rectangle to show where the drop-down shows up.
using a Dell U2422H and the resolution is 1920x1080
the popup help menu also shows on a different screen:
that also applies to the popup help for the Library and Asset Browsers.
Windows 11 (upgraded from 10)
Two monitors @ 1920x1080
Revit materials dialog on the left hand monitor, popup help and menu appear on the monitor to the right.
If I move the materials dialog to the right hand monitor, then the popups and menu appear in the correct place.
It makes no difference which monitor the Revit window is on, just which monitor the materials dialog is on.
I only have two monitors on this rig so I can't test any further.
Out of curiosity did you just download the regular installer from Autodesk, or did you go with the "custom deployment" option? I did the custom deployment. Also... 4 monitors ![]()

Regular installation. Yes only 4 monitors because that is the maximum number of monitor that my computer can support ATM.
Thanks all for the screenshots and reproduce steps information. We have successfully reproduced it on our side and put this issue in our issue backlog. We will take a deep look at it.
Ok, I just created a post on this... about the pull down showing up on my opposite monitor. Any solution to the issue?
Would you mind try right click on either existing material and duplicate material and assets? Then you will be able to edit the duplicated material to a new one. Does this workaround work for you?

Same thing. Any menu that should drop down when clicked on or shows when right clicking something pops up on my other monitor. Pop up menus work as expected, such as the material assets browser.
As far as I can tell, this only happens in the material browser.
This issue might cause by multi-monitors with different dpi. Try to open the material browser on a single monitor should be a temporary workaround to it.

See my earlier post: Two monitors @ 1080p, so, same resolution, same scale settings, etc.
I think the simple workaround for now is just to have the material browser on the monitor, where it works normal.
If I were Autodesk, my priority would be on fixing the UI graphics and or hand it over to the user to control all colors including the grids and fonts. This needs to be a priority, because I can't see it!
For me, the monitors are identical and running at the same resolution. Autodesk just has the multi monitor thing not working with some of the pull downs. Like I said, moving the Material editor to the opposite monitor, is a temporary fix. But for $3800 a year for the BDS, you need to have this kind of stuff in perfect order.
We will contact with you in direct message. Thank you for posting your issue.
